I am a self-appointed authority. My words and actions reflect a forsaking of the one by whose authority I was placed into the Office of the Holy Ministry. Though I do still claim his authority and use his name when it suits my own evil purposes.
I’m not interested in taking care of a flock. I am only interested in taking care of myself. I eat the curds, and clothe myself with the wool and slaughter the choice animals. I am not in this biz to strengthen the weak, heal the sick, or bind up the injured – nor to bring back the strays or seek the lost – but to rule them harshly and brutally. I live to scatter the sheep and let them wander over all the mountains and on every high hill. In short, though I am called a shepherd, I care nothing for the sheep. If you’d like to know more about me you can read it in Ezekiel 34 and John 10.
